Meet Chef Johke, a multidisciplinary creative with roots in fine art and design whose passion for plant-based cooking led her into the culinary world. What began as kitchen experiments turned into a professional path, with Johke stepping into her first head chef role at the original Plant Café.
She quickly built a reputation for bold, nourishing vegan food—hosting workshops, cheffing for film productions, and collaborating with trainers and nutritionists to deepen her knowledge. Eventually, she opened @grumpyandrunt , a beloved vegan bakery and deli that became a community favorite before closing its doors last year.
Now, Johke brings her creativity, experience, and unwavering commitment to plant-based living to Off the Gluten Path as our new head chef. While she prefers not to work directly with animal products, she’ll be guiding the team on flavor, texture, and technique—and leading the launch of an exciting dedicated vegan menu that reflects her values and vision.
